Peg Tyre is the author of the influential and widely praised books The Good School: How Smart Parents Get Their Kids the Education They Deserve (H. Holt 2011/St. Martin's 2012) and The Trouble With Boys: A Surprising Report Card on Our Sons, Their Problems at School and What Parents & Educators Must Do (Crown 2008, paper 2009) which became a New York Times bestseller.
She writes for publications such as The New York Times, the Atlantic, the Washington Post, Politico and Fast Company. She has become a sought-after speaker on education topics and has given lectures and keynotes at Harvard, Princeton, Emory, and at public and private schools around the nation. Through the Solutions Journalism Network she consulted with the Seattle Times on a series of education stories called Education Lab. She was a Spencer Fellow at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She is Director of Strategy at The Edwin Gould Foundation, which invests in organizations that get low-income children to and through college.
